Gleich um die Ecke liegt die belebte Birkenstraße mit sehr netten Läden, Cafés und Restaurants. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es fußläufig 2 Minuten entfernt. Nicht weit entfernt liegt die Turmstraße mit einem großen Angebot an Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Schultheiss Quartier, dm, türkische und asiatische Läden, Bio Company, etc.). Auch Lidl und Aldi sind nicht weit entfernt. Der Bioladen LPG hat auf der Straße Alt-Moabit aufgemacht und hat das große Angebot an Einkaufsmöglichkeiten noch erweitert.
Um die Ecke fahren Busse zum Hauptbahnhof, die U9 (Birkenstraße) und die Ringbahn (Westhafen) sind in ca. 10 min. zu Fuß zu erreichen.
Alles in allem ist es ein sehr belebter, grüner und bunter Kiez. Die Spree, Kirchstraße, der Tiergarten, Schloss Bellevue sind fußläufig zu erreichen. Zum Brandenburger Tor kommt man in ca. 12-15 Minuten mit dem Fahrrad und ist auch gleich im Regierungsviertel mit Bundestag und den Ministerien. Man ist sehr schnell in Mitte, Wedding oder in Charlottenburg. Der Hauptbahnhof ist knapp 2 km entfernt. Und zum Flughafen Tegel kommt man von der Station Turmstraße in nur 13!!! Minuten.
Der Kiez hat sich sehr nett entwickelt; es gibt noch eine gute Mischung, aber mit viel Neuem, was das Leben hier spannender und schöner macht. Auch viele Familien sind hierher gezogen.

The area is quite vibrant and has changed over the last years making Moabit more international, diverse and exciting. In the near Birkenstraße (metro U-9) you find all kind of Cafés and Restaurants and can easily go for food shopping. The next shop is just across the street though. Not far (around 10 min. walk) is the Ringbahn S-Bahn Westhafen that connects you with major public stations and intersections. The central train station is less than 2 km away and reachable by bus or by walking if you wish :)) The airport Tegel can be reached by bus from the near station Turmstraße in just 13!!! minutes. A paradise for travellers.
In the near Turmstraße-area you find all kind of food shopping possibilities and cafés from organic shops to dm, Kaiser's, Turkish, Asian markets and also the Schultheiss Quartier. You can walk to the Spree, Schloss Bellevue, Kirchstraße and the Tiergarten and you get to Brandenburg Gate in around 12-15 minutes bike ride. You're right there in the parliament and government area and also really close to Mitte, Wedding or Charlottenburg.
There are also many families who moved to the area.
