Dear lovely people,
this spring our nicest room will be available and we are looking for one or two person(s) who would want to share this lovely queer-feminist flatshare with us. The room is free for sure in March and April, but possibly you could stay long term...
The room has 39sqm and it will be 493€ including electricity, gas, warm water and heating, telephone and internet, as well as a fee for German TV/radio and an insurance. Yet, since it is so big, it is also suitable for a couple or two good friends. The deposit is 716€.
Your room is pentagonal with 5 windows and lots of sun. From above, you will have a great view onto the sunset and the canal, Kottbusser bridge and Kottbusser Damm. So, there really is hardly a more spectacular room.
It is fully furnished at the moment and some furniture will stay for sure, some you could buy from the previous tenant if you like.
Our flatshare has a completely furnished kitchen with a dish washer, a bathroom with a tub and a washing machine, and a huge corridor, which we’re transforming into a living/reading room little by little. Also, there’s a separate toilet, a small storage room and a cellar. Sometimes we smoke in the kitchen - as long as no-one is cooking/eating.
If you’re interested or know someone that might be, please write us - we cannot wait to get to know you!
Carl* and Juan
...please continue to read the whole ad...
The flat is 5min away from Kottbusser Tor and surrounded by shops, bars and the trees along the Landwehrkanal. Graefestraße and a street market are just across the street. By foot, one can reach Oranienstraße in 5min and the subway station Kottbusser Tor. The lines U1 and U8 that run there take one to all parts of the city very quickly.
At the moment WE are Carl* (38, philosophy&social theory, German) and Juan (28, political science, Chilean).
Our flatshare is a cosy and accepting place. It is important to us to not only share the rent but also experiences, household duties and now and then an evening together. We like to have trust and empathy for each other – but also, we give each other the space and quiet we need, especially now that we’re all home a lot.
You should be respectful of our queer identities and lifestyles. At the moment we are white and of color and BIPoC are very welcome to reply. Languages we share in the flat are English and German (so far).
So, now it’s your turn to tell us a little bit about yourself. We prepared some questions to chose from if that helps ☺
- Where are you from, what are you doing in Berlin, what are your interests and what your worries?
- What is important to you in life? What kind of person do you strive to be?
- Do you already have some experience in sharing a flat with others and what is important to you in living with others?
- What’s your stance on the current restrictions regarding Corona?
- If there’s one thing you could change about societal values immediately, what would it be? What do you dislike about our society’s current gender order?
- if you could go back to 2019, before the pandemic, and do one thing in Berlin, what would it be?
p.s. Please use the word 'avocado' in your message to let us know you read through the ad. And just ignore the word limit ;)
There will be time to get to know each other in person next week. (Because of bad experiences in the past we don't do online meetings.)
