Auch wenn mein Deutsch relativ fließend ist, werde ich hier auf Englisch weitermachen, da es für mich grundsätzlich einfacher und schneller ist. Aber ihr könnten mir gerne auf Deutsch antworten!
Up for rental is a beautiful, airy and bright room in the heart of Kreuzberg, in a stunning and large 'alt-berliner' Altbau apartment. The room itself has solid old wooden floors, massive windows looking into the hinterhof, and is above all quiet and peaceful. There's also a desk to work at and a large old wooden wardrobe and plenty of space to store clothes.
My current flatmate is not here and will not be back until August, at which point she will simply pick up her things and move elsewhere. I have said I will store her things for her somewhere else, so when moving in, you will pretty much have a clean slate. To be specific, the pictures and furnishings will go, the furniture and bed will stay. The rug will probably stay but I can't guarantee that, I'm afraid. All bills are included in the price, including very fast cable internet connection (the room also has direct connection if needed)
The flat is gorgeous with a big south-facing balcony. The pictures should speak for themselves :)
Muskauerstrasse is pretty much ideally located. The Kiez is wonderful, with supermarkets and shops all within 5 minutes walking distance, as well as the Markthalle which is full of amazing food. You have Mariannenplatz 30 seconds walk from the door, which you also have a great view of from the balcony. KotbusserTor and Goerlitzer Bahnhof UBahn are both nearby, and Ostbahnhof is within 15 minutes easy walk. So, really, it's ideal :)
I am a very easy going, somewhat ageless British documentary filmmaker and voiceover artist. As I've been in Berlin for just under 10 years, I speak German very well, yet also Spanish and Portuguese fluently. I cook a lot, work a lot (from the flat) and as such am around a lot. That said, I know very well how to be respectful of privacy, as well as being sociable and having a meal or a drink and a chat. I'd ideally like to live with someone with whom I naturally gel on these points. I'm no longer a student and as such really looking for a mutually respectful person, who knows how to keep the flat clean after themselves.
I would offer the contract for an initial 6 months to see how we get on before discussing any extensions - from experience, I have found that works best for everyone.
