Hi! We are Teo and Cyn. :) Our third flatmate, Renee, is moving out on the 1st of March, so we are looking for someone nice to take over this beautiful, sunny, and fully furnished room, situated in the best area of Kreuzberg :). The offer is long term, but we would probably start with a six months or one year contract, and see from there.
The small but charming room has reeeeally high ceilings and a very tall window, what means it is bright and sunny all day (of course, when there is any sun to be had in Berlin 😅). Its orientation to the West gives you beautiful afternoons while also protecting you from direct sunlight to the face in the morning. Being an Altbau, also means thick walls and great insolation from the cold, or heat when summer arrives (other than the charm, of course). The room has a really nice wooden floor and stucco ceilings and is fully furnished. The elevated bed makes it so that there is plenty of space for whatever you need on the ground. The furniture will stay, and it is a pre-requisite that you buy it from our soon-to-be ex-flatmate (afterwards, you can do whatever you want with it, but it is very helpful if you don’t have other furniture yet.). The full price will be 600€, and includes the bed, big sofa, desk+office chair, mirrors, rug, sideboards, hangers… basically everything you’d need :).
(It also might make it easier for these initial payments that our landlord asks for a much lower Kaution then the average you probably have seen around 😉).
The flat is located in the best area of Kreuzberg, and I absolutely love it. Here are some of its great advantages:
Less than 5 min walk:
- U Mehringdamm (U6/U7)
- U Möckernbrucke (U1/U3/U7) – Yes! You will be living between two metro stations and directly connected to four of the most important metro lines in Berlin!
- REWE and EDEKA, both supermarkets literally around the corner
- Stops for many nightbus lines sich as the M19, N1, N2, N3 and N6
- Park am Gleisdreiek – My favorite park in Berlin!
- Mehringdamm and Yorckstraße, with all its shops, cafés, bars, etc.
- Asian shops, Pharmacies, Bakeries, and even a Cinema.
Less than 10 min walk:
- U Gleisdreiek (U2) – if four metro lines weren’t enough, have one more
- LIDL, ALDI and Netto, if you are more into cheap supermarkets haha
- Viktoriapark, with the beautiful hill that gives Kreuzberg its name
- Bergmannstraße and the Bergmannkiez, famous for its restaurants, bars, cafés and liveliness
Also within waking distance to the S1 (very useful if you want to enjoy some summer time at some of Berlin’s best lakes), Tempelhofer Feld and the whole city center (Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, etc.), the flat is extremely well connected so you can easily get wherever you want to.
The neighborhood in itself is also pretty chill, full of trees and nice people, and even though it is super close to all the excitement, Großbeerenstraße in itself is small and quiet, so you have the perfect amount of silence and privacy.
Your future flatmates will be me, Teo, a 28-year-old Architect from Brazil, and Cynthia, 34 years old, from Argentina.
I’m currently doing a Master’s degree at the TU, and usually spends a lot of time at Uni. My schedule is a bit irregular, but I like to have times of relaxing at home, as well as going out with friends, travelling, etc. I’m very much into Arts, Politics, and basically whatever topic you might want to chat about :). I’m probably the one cooking the most in the flat, and I kind of enjoy it as well. I speak English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and a bit of Italian. Cyn works a lot, and when she is home, she likes to chill and relax. She is easy going and a very caring person, but does not tolerate self-centered people who do not think about others. She speaks English and Spanish as well, and we try to keep English as the “common language” in the flat.
We are hoping you will be nice, open and easy going, clean (obviously) and not super loud (since your room would be the one in the middle). This is definitely not a “party-WG”, but we are in general chill and enjoy doing things together when the schedules match. (we obviously don’t want somebody totally boring as well haha)
Also, you should be minimum 26 and have some experience living in WGs before.
It should go without saying, but we will absolutely not accept any sort of Racism, LGBTQIA+fobia, Xenophobia, or prejudice of any sort. Extra points if you are open minded, progressive and don’t support conservative thinking in general.
We will be inviting selected people to visit the apartment throughout February, so please have it in mind. The start of the rent will be only on the 1st of March.
If you feel like you would be a good fit for our WG, please write as a message! We are looking forward to it :)
And please start the message my mentioning your favorite dish, so we know you have actually read 😉
We are looking forward to meeting our future flatmate!
Teo & Cyn
