Living on Weserstraße but without the noises of drunk people: Sounds about right.
Your potential room is facing the backyard. It will be partly furnished, but without a bed. There is wooden floor (as seen on the pics).
We have a shared kitchen and no living room, but the flat has a nice balcony facing Weserstr. There is also a basement room to put some stuff in.
Oh, did we mention there are two bathrooms? Well, yes you heard right. 🚽🚽
**Currently there is construction work in the backyard. We don't know how long this is continuing, so please only apply if you're okay with some construction noise during the day.**
Good times: Welcome to the Weserkiez. 🏓🤘🍷
If you like strolling around, go out during day or night time, this is probably your place to be. Apart from the possibility to buy some good Brötchen, you also have nice Cafés, good Falafel and a tasty Moscow Mule close by.
The closest supermarket is 5 minutes away. There is a wonderful food and flea market at the canal on Tuesdays and Fridays. The streets are busy with people and bikes, and of course Weserstr. has the nicest bars of the city (crossing fingers here..)
In the morning, it smells like coffee and toasted bread. In the evening, a fusion of middle Eastern cuisine and organic mediterranean dishes does the work (well, sometimes). We cook, have wine and also had one or two dances in the kitchen (it's a rather small kitchen, but we can make things work). We are not a party WG with all of us working and/or studying hard, but we like spending time together after work. 💃🕺Since the flat is not a palazzo, we usually don't host illegal raves.
Let's introduce the two peeps you will be sharing the flat with:
Rabea is working to improve climate policy in Germany. When she is not busy saving the world, she likes to cook (that's the organic and fairtrade part) and drink and occasionally having a smoke on the balcony.
Aboud studies business and works in graphics & design. Originally from Syria and having lived most of his study time in Malaysia, he can bring Asia and the Middle East alive in the kitchen while drinking Berliner Kindl and listening to electro.
We share most of our food and enjoy cooking together or for each other. We both eat meat (just to let you know) but enjoy cooking vegetarian or vegan.
In the WG we currently speak mainly English, with occasional German and Arabic in between.
Expectation Management:
We would love to welcome people who like to spend time together (not all of it, of course). We respect each others' space and talk to each other if there are any issues. But it's kind of the basic deal if you're trying to be an adult person, sharing a flat, right?
We also have a little code word which you must use to be considered as a candidate. The word is: Gabelstapler.
We're all working, and because of the current situation, we are working/studying from home mostly. This means during the day there is a bit of a working atmosphere with the occasional smoking or lunch break on the balcony or outside.
