The room is 12x12 meters, east-facing with blackout blinds, and Innenhof-facing with no neighbors in front of the window (if you're the type that likes to hang out naked). The room comes with a desk, a second monitor, a TV, a dry-erase board, a wall of closet-like storage space, and lots of plants.
Regarding the plants, ideally the renter is either capable of taking care of the plant or willing to let a friend drop by once a week to water or check on them. If the former, ideally the renter is a green thumb and open to appropriately increasing the amount of the security deposit to include a little plant insurance.
The apartment is in a very cute and bougie area of Prenzlauer Berg called Kollwitzkiez. There is an Edeka directly below the apartment, a park right across the street, and a market on the street below every Saturday. If Edeka isn't your jam, there's a Rewe and a Lidl about three blocks away. There are lots of great restaurants in the area and not one but two Georgian restaurants on the block, just in case the one isn't enough.
It's a four minute walk to the M2 and less than a ten minute walk to the U2, both of which give you easy access to Alexanderplatz and the Ringbahn.
The WG is comprised (besides me) of two young professionals (M30 and M33) from Italy and the Netherlands. They are easy going, friendly, and reliable. One works from the office and one works mostly from home. They have some habits that would be good for any prospective tenant to know and accommodate, namely regarding the morning shower schedules. Given all of you would live three months together, part of the selection process would include having a chat with them
Generally the main rule of the house is to keep a respectable level of hygiene in the shared areas. We do keep the common spaces clean and orderly and if things are cleaned up after meals or by the end of the night, then all should stay copasetic. This also extends to helping out with a bit of a deeper cleaning, i.e. vacuuming and mopping, every few weeks.
Beyond the shared community spaces, we have a bit of shared community items, for example: if the toilet paper is running out, somebody gets a new pack, and we don't really count pennies over such items (ideally everyone takes initiative and these marginal costs even out over time); or, you don't have the Ketchup you want with your fries, or the milk you want with your coffee, it's fine to share such little items among us.
Finally, the last rule (I'm guessing one that transcends the apartment) is clear and direct communication if ever there's a question or a conflict, as we think that is the best way to clarify and resolve things.
The apartment also has a living room with a TV and couch, a dishwasher, and a washer/dryer. There are two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and a shower and one with just a toilet.
The website is being a bit difficult in letting me upload more pictures, so I'm happy to share more visuals upon request.
