The room is light, with south-facing window onto a very quiet street. It's furnished with minimalist IKEA furniture so you can style it as you want. It comes with a bed, desk, chair, cupboard, chest of drawers and a shelf. It's very quiet and cosy.
Directly outside the window is a white blossoming tree, just about to bloom for spring, just in time for you to move in. If you're working from home, the desk is a lovely place to sit during the day with the sun.
In Prenzlauer Berg, less than 10 minutes walk to the M2 or M12 trams, or a 10 minute walk to the S-Bahn. It's a very very quiet street in a very quiet residential area. There's no cars, no bars, no noise. There aren't many bars or shops nearby - for that you would need to walk about 10-15 minute to get into the deeper heart of Prenzlauer Berg.
But what there is nearby is 5 grocery stores, all within very easy walking distance. You're spoiled for choice with Rewe, Aldi, Lidl, Pennymarkt and Netto all within 5 minutes, as well as DM, Obi, Bio supermarket, etc. Wow, such choice.
To get to Alexanderplatz by bike or tram is 15-20 min.
It's a 2-bedroom flat, and your current flatmate is Grace, an American gal. She's a writer and has previously been published in the New Yorker, so you know she's good. She works full time, leads an active social life, but often likes to invite a friend over for a drink or dinner. She's a fantastic housemate and will happily talk your ear off about podcasts and politics, or just as easily chill in her room and watch Netflix.
The flat has a nice built-in IKEA kitchen with all the goodies - oven and stove with induction hob, microwave, fridge. There's a table for 2, so it's not a big hosting kitchen, but you can very easily cook up anything you want.
Grace is vegetarian and would love to live with another vegetarian, but it's not required.
I'm the current tenant, Ellen, and I'm moving out after 2 years of living in this cosy room, because I'm moving in with some other friends. I'll be sad to leave this place but hope I can find a nice somebody who will feel at home here.
The apartment building has a cellar to store things, a bike cellar to keep your bike safe and warm, a HUGE shared garden (it's kind of like a park) only accessible to tenants of the area, and normally very quiet neighbours.
The landlord is very chill, speaks English and French, and has always been helpful.
Please write some words about yourself - what you do, what's your lifestyle, hobbies, etc - so we can see if you will fit in living with the current flatmate.
