The room is both furnished and spacious, clocking in at no less than 17,5 m2. The apartment itself was built in 1920, and as with many old Berlin apartments— it shows. However, what you loose with the slanted kitchen and oddly designed bathroom is more than made up for by the old wooden floor and high ceiling height. To me this is the European charm, and why I still love living here more than a year in.
The room is as mentioned furnished. Everything you need is already here, but if you want to bring in more stuff I won't hassle you. The kitchen and apartment is already fully equipped, but I would love to have more spoons. If you're interested already AND have a lot of spoons, please inquire! :-)
The apartment is located just one street block away from the Nöldnerplatz train station, the first station east of Ostkreuz following the S5, S7 or S75 lines. If you're the kind of person who takes the S3, the Rummelsburg train station is only 7 minutes away too. I regularly see busses and busstops around here, but I haven't the slightest idea where they will lead you.
From here you can find Edeka, Aldi, Lidl, Kaufland and Rewe all within walking distance, the furthest being no more than 10 minutes away. A decent few restaurants are available within the same range as well, along with a selection of Spätis and an asian store just around the corner. If this is not enough for you, you're always only a stone's throw away from Friedrichshain— it's either one train station or a 20 minute walk to get into the district.
Me, Victor, Swedish male 23 years of age, will be your only roommate. Our rooms are on opposite sides of the apartment separated by a decently long hall. It's very rare to hear anything between the rooms and with previous roommates privacy has never been an issue.
I came to Berlin 4 years ago and have settled well into the city since. In my spare time I make music (with headphones, don't worry), occasionally take on other art projects, as well as a decent amount of reading. When I'm home I prefer a soft, relaxed, secluded atmosphere. Preferably you are similar to me in this way!
I'm friendly and helpful, but would prefer to have the kind of home where we can both wear headphones even when we're in the kitchen simultaneously. Can't small talk be reserved to the office and other similarly life defying atrocities? However, for this to work it's very important we have deep respect for each other and make sure to regularly keep the apartment clean and cozy. I won't mind getting to know you, but I'm definitely introverted enough to need my personal sphere of peace.
If you're interested in renting the room please send a short description of yourself to me.
I will then get back to you, and if we seem like a fit we can arrange a viewing! Viewings can be arranged easily, as my schedule is very flexible. Of course you're also free to reach out if you have any questions :-)
