EDIT: I've found a new roommate starting in June. However, the room will still be available throughout May. So in case you are looking for something short-term for the month, let me know! :-)
If you don’t bring your own furniture, I’d be happy to furnish the room - I’ve got lots of furniture in my basement, haha…

PSA: Somehow, wg-gesucht seems to think auto-translating ads is a good idea... it's not! :D This ad was written in English, if it appears to you in weird German, it's because auto-translation is on - you can turn it off below this text box. Feel free to reply in German though! :)

Hallihallo! :) I recently moved into this flat and got a spare room. I planned to live alone originally, but it's frankly much more quiet and boring than I thought - and also honestly not worth the extra money, haha. Hence, I am looking for someone to fill this vacant room at S Nikolassee - close to beautiful Schlachtensee, Wannsee, and at the offshoots of magnificent Grunewald.
The 1930s flat is about 50m2 in size, coming with a shared kitchen, bathroom, balcony and a private garden. Your room is about 15m2, will come unfurnished except for the large mirror wardrobe, and has a south-facing window with lots of light coming in during the day. I also have some bookshelves, a table, and some other stuff in the basement which you could use to furniture your room, if you like... or just bring your own things. Anyways, we'll find a solution! :)
Short-term stays (e.g. for an internship or semester) and registration are possible. :)
The flat is located in the homely district Nikolassee, which is somewhat more of the “old & rich” area of Berlin. Lots of large, impressive Wilhelminian style villas. It is a 2 minutes walk from Schlachtensee, probably the nicest bathing spot in Berlin, also recognized by the New York Times as such. Supermarkets (Aldi, Rewe and Netto) are within a 10 minutes reach, and so are all other stores and places you might need (pharmacy, book store, a prime Döner rated 4/5 Döners bei Döner Gudie Berlin, an Indian Restaurant, two Cafés, a student pub, and - awww - this awesome Mexican place that does THE BEST burritos in Berlin, promised!).
Getting to the city center is fairly easy, with the S1 and S7 stopping every 10 minutes just a few meters away (3-5 minutes walk, depending on your walking speed and urgency, ha). Getting to the central station will take you 28 minutes, to Charlottenburg 20 minutes, to Schöneberg 25 minutes. Getting to the East of the city is a bit annoying though, as it takes you almost 45 minutes to Ostkreuz.
To the Freie Universität, it’s about 25 minutes by bike, 30 minutes by public transport, or combined about 15, with 9 minutes to station Lichterfelde West and another 5 minutes to scoot/ride/skate down the avenue to the campus.
Potsdam Hbf is reachable within 12 minutes with the S7, so this is also a prime location if you are working/studying in Potsdam but would still like to live in Berlin.
I’ve been living in Nikolassee (in another flat close by) for about three years now and honestly love it - the more quiet, picturesque streets (which are almost daily occupied by film crews taking shots for whatever movies), the quick access to nature, and the homely, residential, communal vibe is a pleasing go to after a work/uni day in buzzing Berlin. The lakes close by (Wannsee - 5 minutes by bike, Schlachtensee - 2 minutes by foot, even in slippers and bathrobe, tested and verified!) are just great, especially in summer. Also, the area has kind of a Berlifornia vibe, as it has been under American occupation for almost 50 years, which certainly had its impact. Anyhow, I guess one has to be the right kinda person to enjoy this area and prefer it to e.g. Kreuzberg or so.
Nevertheless, I already convinced a couple of friends to move down here throughout the years, who are/were living next door - so we are basically a small WG family :) We often hang out together, cooking, swimming, or just having wine on the balcony... I am also trying to form a WG band, but that's not going too well so far :D In recent months, some of my friends left Berlin, so there's some new people now who moved into their rooms (all students in their 20s)... it's a bit more quiet currently, but I hope to revive that WG family vibe, now that the Berlin summer is coming back! :)
During the week I'm spending most of my time either in lectures at med school (Charité) or in the lab, where I conduct research for my doctoral thesis. I also recently started to play tennis and got my sailing license, so I might try to persuade you to sign on to my Wannsee sailing crew during summer, haha. We also often go to indie rock concerts, so bonus if you're into that! :)
Oh, and then there's the garden: I just this week started to dig it over with some friends, and I think this is gonna be such a nice spot in summer! It's private, so it's the perfect place for barbecues, growing veggies, summer outdoor cinemas, and WG partys of course (mark the 5th of July in your calendar, we'll have a small festival with some actual bands - hope Deutsche Wohnen doesn't cancel our rental contract after that, haha... if so, I'm sorry - it must have been worth it!). But there's still so much to do (building a pallet outdoor sofa, planting stuff, installing an irrigation system, and planning the festival of course). So even better if you're into building things, growing stuff or bring your own band! ;)
If you'd be interested in moving down south to Berlifornia, shoot me a quick message! You can also send me your Spotify Wrapped 2024 playlist if you like… think, music preferences is a good indicator of people’s vibe.* ;)
Cheers & talk to you sooooon!
