Subletting my lovely room in my flat while I am on holidays for five weeks. It's a beautiful large room with lots of natural daylight and everything you might need. There is a comfortable double bed with bedding, a desk to work from, fast internet, a big sofa and TV for relaxed evenings, books which you are welcome to borrow and space for your clothes and anything else you might have.
I hope you'll understand that I will only reply to enquiries for this specific time frame, I will be returning to my flat on 14th February and am not looking to sublet long-term :)
The flat is located in the heart of beautiful Sprengelkiez (the Prenzlauer Berg of Wedding) - you can find an Edeka and a Späti at 2 minutes walking distance, the U-Bahn Amrumer Straße (U6) in 5 minutes distance, buzzing Leopoldplatz within 12 minutes walking distance and S-Bahn Wedding (Ringbahn) also roughly 10-12 minutes away.
There are some lovely cafés, bakeries and restaurants directly nearby and lots more to discover in Wedding. I'm happy to leave you recommendations for all my favourite places in the neighbourhood.
In summer, the Nordufer is a popular spot for locals to hang out by the water and is also only 2 minutes away. From there it's an nice walk to Plötzensee (where you can swim in summer or - if you're into that kind of stuff - do some Eisbaden) and the Volkspark Rehberge are only a 10 minute cycle away.
I've lived in my flat for about three years and it's a very homely place - we have a very large bathroom with bathtub and big windows, a kitchen with a nice eating area and a bench by the window, and then two bedrooms (of which you will be staying in the bigger one). Because it's a top-floor flat it gets lots of daylight - the downside is that it's impossible to find curtains for the odd-shaped large windows, so if you need absolute darkness to sleep well, then this place is not for you. In winter it's not a big issue though since it gets dark early and gets bright late in the morning. We have a lift, so you only have to walk five steps and not the entire five floors.
You'll be staying with my flatmate Lena who is spending five months in Berlin for a university placement - she's German and she's great company for shared dinners, conversations, whatever floats your boat. Likewise, if you don't want to interact too much, the two bedrooms are very far apart and sound doesn't travel at all in the flat, so it's easy to just do you thing without bothering anyone or being bothered.
Our kitchen has everything you might need to prepare nice meals and you're welcome to use anything we have here.
