From Budapest eager to dive into Berlin

A month ago I moved to Berlin from Budapest and I have a WG-Zimmer till the end of March. I love the experience so far and that’s why I’m now looking for a permanent solution.

Unlike my experiences back home WGs here in Berlin do things together. When I arrived they welcomed me and we sat in the kitchen for hours talking about anything that came to mind. I even learned my first German word: Hausschuhe. Then they took me to the rooftop and I literally got an overview of Berlin. What a great experience! I’ve been talking about this so much that my girlfriend and friends back home can’t wait to come visit.

Before moving here I heard a lot about Berlin. I’m always curious about new things and Berlin attracted me for its start-up scene. Luckily, I got a job in a start-up and work as a software developer. We’re only three people and it’s very casual. I’m passionate about my job and enjoy my work. But don’t worry, I’m not all about work.

There’s a list of things I’d like to do here. Obviously, sights like the TV tower and the Museum Island are on it. But I’d also like to explore the lakes around, the running lanes and the cycle roads, because I’m about to prepare for a triathlon. I heard the clubs here are great as well. Any recommendations?

I’ve been sharing flats for the last six years and never had any problems. I always clean up after myself and make sure that the common areas tidy. To prevent problems and fights with my Mitbewohner I communicate openly and directly. I really like to cook as you can see on the pictures. That’s me (middle) in my current WG.

I’m looking for WGs with up to 4 Mitbewohner. My room should be at least 12 sqm. I hope to find a WG where people are interested in talking with each other about the world, nature or whatever is on their mind. Obviously, I respect everybody’s privacy and will leave you alone if you need some time for yourself.
