Looking for a room

Hi! I'm Elspeth, I'm 24 and am moving to Bochum from Scotland as I've recently started a doctorate in physics at the RUB. I speak English natively, and my German is fairly good. I'm looking for a long term place, anywhere in Bochum is fine so long as it's either near the RUB, or not too far from an U-Bahn stop. I'm fine with either a furnished or unfurnished room and would be open to buying furniture from a previous tenant.

I'm generally tidy and quiet when at home, while a clean living space is nice I'm not too uptight about it either. I'm vegetarian, and really enjoy cooking and baking, but I of course don't mind if other people eat meat. I've previously lived in a housing cooperative and really enjoy spending time with flatmates; watching movies, cooking together, quatschen etc.; but am also happy living with people who are a bit more quiet. I also really enjoy going to the gym and bouldering, boardgames, and spending time in nature. I like live music and pubs/clubs and really want to explore the nightlife in Bochum. As you can tell, I'm definitely not looking for a Zweck-WG - but I'm also happy living with people who prefer to keep to themselves a bit. I have a girlfriend who studies in Tübingen who would visit sometimes, but I'd make sure to check in advance.

I'm currently in temporary accommodation through Akafö and would ideally like to move out in January or February, but I can be flexible about the exact date.
