Our apartment (first floor) has very tall ceilings, and it faces a semi-busy Kornstrasse on one side, and a quiet side street on another. It has four bedrooms, a pretty large kitchen with a big kitchen table, a small bathroom, and plenty of storage (small storage room in the apt., and a large basement). The rest of the apartment building is mostly families, but there is an another WG on the top floor.
The room has a large window and it's engulfed in sunshine throughout the day (whenever we get sunshine in Bemen, of course :)). It faces Kornstr. so it can get a little loud sometimes, usually Friday and Saturday nights, but generally it's quiet. It's a simple, rectangular room, and even though it's not very large (12m^2) the tall ceilings make it really comfortable. It's partially furnished: There will be a bed frame (I will leave the mattress too, but it's a terrible old mattress, so I suggest you get/bring your own), a table, couple chairs, and some lamps and side tables/shelves. All of the furniture can go in the basement if you want to bring your own.
Public transportation: We are super close to both Gastfeldstr. (tram line 6, several bus lines) and Theater am Leibnitzplatz (tram line 4 & 6) - it's a 3-5 min walk to Gastfeldstr., and 5-7 min to Theater am Leib. (and you can walk through our pretty neighborhood park to get there).
Stores and cafes/bars: The closest shops are Penny and Edeka (3-5 min walk), and there's a couple kiosks just down the street (1-2 min). AND, a store called 'Pappelmarkt' which is open on Sundays is also some 5 min away ;). We are also surrounded by some really busy streets: Two blocks away in one direction is Buntentorsteinweg, where you'll find loads of businesses, stores, etc., and two blocks away in another direction is Pappelstr., with a bunch of cafes and restaurants, a weekly market, etc. There's loads of cool bars in the area as well, and lots of options if you feel like picking up a döner or a pizza.
For students: We are a 10 min walk away from Hochschule Bremen, and tram line 6 will take you directly to Uni Bremen in about 25 min.
Important also: You can reach a small neighborhood park in a couple minutes, a few minutes more and you can enjoy the big Leibnitzplatz/Hochschule park, and you can also enjoy walks by the river: You can reach the riverside in 10-15 min, and the Wesersee in a 30-40 min walk.
Our apartment life is really chill. We're all friendly people and enjoy talks in the kitchen/hallway, but there's no pressure to do stuff together. It's generally pretty calm around here - though we do host guests, of course - and we keep it pretty clean with a cleaning schedule. We share foods like pasta and potatoes for example, we're pretty relaxed with borrowing/sharing other stuff too, and we enjoy having a beer together every once in a while.
People staying in the apartments are a mixed, international crew - all students but with various interests. Annika is German, she studies architecture, enjoys travelling and the outdoors, and she often brings us food from 'food sharing'! Ahmed is a French/Tunisian economics student, fond of techno, business literature, and kinda obsessed with windsurfing and everything connected to the sea. Alex (Greek) is here only until December - he's in Bremen doing an internship for a year, but he will go back to Austria to finish his degree in aerospace engineering. Until December, however, you will hear him play the guitar and meet him in the kitchen making salads a lot.
Language wise - two people in the flat speak German, but since Alex doesn't, you do have to speak English to live here comfortably (or some Greek at least).
We are looking for a girl for this room, since we'd like to keep the gender balance.
We're hoping to find a nice person and a fun housemate - nothing too much. We told you about us and our super apartment (it would be hard to find a flat as nice as and as well located as ours for €250 per month) - if you think you'd be a good fit, you can msg me (Murisa) via whatsapp ----/-------. But do it promptly - move in date is November 1st, and we want to find a person as soon as possible!
