The room is in the attic, with two windows that open and a surprisingly good amount of floor space. It should be noted that you have to climb a ladder to get into the room, but it is very sturdy and despite being clumsy I have never fallen from it. Everyone that sees the room says that it is better than they thought for being an attic room. This room is probably better for people that are not too tall, as the roof is slanted and you might hit your head otherwise. But there is plenty of room to walk around for me, and I have been living here comfortably for two years already. The internet is great and very fast, my room is quite warm and comfortable.
I am leaving a lot of my furniture, a really nice dresser that is too heavy to take down, and another smaller dresser made of cloth. I can also leave my two ikea tables, carpet, mirror, lamp, and mattress--if you would like. There is a lattenrost that you can also use. There are shelves built into the walls that will also stay. All of this stuff will be free of charge.
There are two full bathrooms in the house, and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything that you could ever need, two refridgerators, a washing machine and dishwasher, etc. This is an ideal place to live for people that are coming without many personal belongings, as the house is already equipped with everything. There is also a balcony off of the kitchen with a nice view of our neighbors ;)
The house is the the Viertel, which is a very lively and central area in Bremen. There are many grocery stores, restaurants, shops and bars along the main street. It is possible to have a good night out just staying in the neighborhood. It takes 10 minutes by bike to get to the hbf, and roughly the same by the tram. The house is located just a two minute walk away from the tram station. The house itself is on a side street from the main road, very close to Rossmann, Alnatura and Netto. During the warmer months it's super nice to go to the river which is only a few blocks away.
The flat is made up of very friendly students and workers and the atmosphere among everyone is relaxed and communal. We like to cook together, have coffee, and share stories etc, in the main kitchen, but everyone has privacy in their own rooms and so there is both the option to be social as well as private when one wishes. There is one small dog who lives here full-time, and sometimes there are other dogs as one flatmate trains them periodically. We like to keep things clean but this is probably not the house for people that are super clean-freaks. :)
Everyone in the house, -except for me- is German, but understanding/speaking English. It would be okay if you are German or international, as the current housemates are used to me and I am only moving out because I am getting married :)
I am moving into my new apartment on December 1st, so my room is available from the 7th of December, anyone who wishes to move in starting the 1st of January, a bit later, etc- is also welcome.
