Hey everyone,
let me explain the title - I am subletting my flat/ most of it until december - if we get along longer.
I am living in a 2 bedroom, 1 living room/kitchen flat. As I will be in Texas until december (with 2 breaks of 1 week) I am subletting 1 room. I will be using the guestroom during the 2 weeks I'll be in town. Therefore you will have the entire flat to yourself 90 per cent of the time. Therefore, the place will come fully furnished.
That was the complicated bit - now about the flat (photos follow tonight)
Next to the living room/kitchen with balcony (evening sun!), washing machine, cutlery plates etc., dinner table, and a couch (all new) you will have a small bath (window and bath tub - if you're 1.90m you won't fit in though ;) ) and my bedroom with a walk in closet!
The bedroom is 12m2 plus the closet. There is a bed with a 2 weeks old mattress (7 zones comfort blabla), a big mirror (2m*80cm) and a bed side table. If you have your own bed and want to bring it, that's also fine, then ill put it in the guest room.
I wll be using the guest room to sleep in when Im there (1 week in september and 1 week in october), and otherwise to store my stuff, so that there is room for yours. Of course you can use it to have people sleep over when Im not there or to do sports (there is a gym trainer thingy and a yoga mat in there, next to a desk, a closet and boxes with my stuff ill be putting aside to make room for you)
If this arrangement works well and we actually get along, we can talk about prolonging it for longer than December 1st.
The flat is at Konkordiastraße 89, in parallel to Lorettostraße. It's my favourite part of the city, so I was very happy when I got it. Lorettostraße and Bilker Kirche got lots of nice small shops, good places to eat (Yomago for the best frozen yoghurt in town, richies n rose is right next to me - they make terrific burgers and the people there are pretty cool, güzel - the best turkish food ever (a mommy cooking herself, and theyve got evening sun, even though the staff can be slightly unfriendly sometimes I still love that place), cafe petit rouge, lots of small boutiques (hab&gut, schöne Sachen), .... and the Medienhafen is a 10 minute walk away (well, by the rhine, the beginning of it 5 minutes)
I usually walk into town or use my bike. Its a 15 minute walk to the beginning of Altstadt and in 20 you can be at Marktplatz. If it rains, take tram - the lines 706,707,709, (and 1 more, forgot which one) leave a 2 min walk away. So is the Rhine, which is great for a run, and shopping facilities (penny 1 min, rewe 3 min, Düsseldorf arcaden & real 10 min walking)
So you see - this place is fantastic! If you're nice, I'll introduce my friends living a 2 min walk away throwing the best parties and having the greatest brunch terrace in Düsseldorf :)
As already described - until december there won't be much WG-Leben, as I will be abroad on a project. However, I am still introducing myself here for 3 reasons:
1 - I want someone in here I like since I kind of need to trust you and I will be sharing a place with you for 2 weeks.
2 - if everything goes well and we get along, we can still talk about prolonging the arrangement.
3 . I love meeting new people :)
So a bit about me - I'm a management/strategy consultant focused on renewable energy. I think I found my sweet spot with this job, as I am a bit on an idealist and love to travel, as well as like challenging myself and don't consider myself being too dumb (even though I'm a friend of very dumb jokes :D)
In my spare time I love good music (at home, at concerts or for clubbing - brought mix of indie, minimal, blues, funk, blues rock etc), love good food (you will never find a ready made meal in my fridge, just fresh organic food, lots of spices, and a bottle of wine and gin ;) ) I do like reading, but unfortunately havent got too much time for it lately. Furthermore, I go to the gym almost every morning before work or go running in the evenings. Oh, you can also use my bike (old dutch bike, nothing fancy though) if you havent got one...
When I'm in town I'm always up to doing sth - going out, doing sports together, board game night (or cards against humanity - love that game), wine on the ballcony or by the river, going to a museum or the cinema (I love the K21 and the independent cinemas in Düsseldorf) , going for a coffe (I love the covent garden coffee house close by, or the rösterei 4 in town because of the cold brew- ginger beer mix they have), shopping or sth more adventuours like wake boarding, spontaneous bungee jumping, climbing etc...
Oops, this somehow became a novel - to cut a long story short: I am looking forward to meet you! :)
More pictures to follow soon, I'm already late now :)
The room wlll be available as of August 22, September 1st is also possible, I will arrange with my friends to get you the keys.
You can best reach me via text message or call me.
I look forward to meeting you :)
PS: I'm German, just too lazy to write in both, German and English.
