Hello,
with a heavy heart I have to leave my ready-furnished room in this lovely shared apartment, because I'm going abroad for a semester.
It is in a 4-room flat (3 other girls) and the room will be free from now until the beginning of the winter semester 2022.
It is a very nice and cozy room, with great natural daylight and a view into the green (it seems a bit gray in the pictures because they were taken in January).
The "Bergwerkswald", which provides a habitat for many different species of animals, is right outside the door so it is very common for birds, hedgehogs or rabbits to stray onto the shared grounds.
The kitchen is well equipped and our sunny balcony has a view of the volleyball court.
Each two residents share a bathroom.
A washing machine and a dryer are in the basement.
The dormitory is located in buildings of the Studentenwerk so it is mandatory that you are enrolled as a student at one of the Giessen universities.
The flatshare is located right next to the Natural Sciences Campus, also close to the Dental Clinic and the University Hospital - thus ideal for students of Natural Sciences, Dentistry and Medicine.
Within 3 minutes you can reach the bus lines 3, 10, 13, with which you have a good connection to the city and to the train station. But also by bike you would be there in about 10 minutes.
The location is rather quiet and you have a nice view into the green.
Grocery shopping facilities (Aldi, Lidl, Rewe, Tegut) are within 5 minutes by bike.
We - Aileen (22, nutritionist), Hanna (24, medical student) and Hannah (24, medical student) - are a relaxed and harmonious flatshare.
Our kitchen is also our common room, where we chat, cook and drink tea together.
In summer we also like to sit on our balcony and watch the sporty students playing volleyball. :P
Of course you also need some time for yourself, so your room is the ideal retreat.
If you are in Giessen or in Germany only for a short time, e.g. in the context of an abroad semester, a research stay or an internship, feel free to contact me! We are very happy about an intercultural experience!
