The room is very large and I will leave most of the furniture. The carpet is old but the paint is very fresh. Large windows offer a view of old buildings and Jenzig in the distance. There are two bathrooms, one shower, a small but highly functional kitchen, storage space for drying laundry in the attic, additional storage in a cellar, and a very powerful heater. In Summer, it is well ventilated and rather comfortable as long as you have a fan for hot days. I was smoking in this room previously but it actually ventilates very well.
This is the main selling point of the apartment: a ridiculously awesome location. Paradiesbahnhof is 2 minutes away by walking. The apartment itself is one street away from the city center and Stadtzentrum Lobdergraben. There are grocery stores and restaurants throughout the neighborhood. The park is less than 5 minutes away on foot. Anywhere you need to be in the city, you can be in 15 minutes with the transport. One could also organize parking with the Hausmeister and park behind a gate.
Your future roommates would be Alex, Jessica, Melanie, and Tobias. They are all young students at varying points in their degrees. Alex and I are currently the main renters and we are responsible for collecting rent and ensuring bills are paid. The lease for the main renters is actually through Jenawohnen. It would be great if the next roommate could take over that role from me. Alex, Jessica, Melanie, and Tobias are all kind and interesting Germans. They all speak at least some English. Normally, we do keep to ourselves but Alex and Jessica are looking to enjoy more roommate activities. Melanie has a cat named Kadze who is very friendly and curious. Generally, we communicate openly and accomplish our weekly cleaning plan. International students, Germans, and working people planning to remain in Jena for a year or more are all welcome.
I am currently seeking a new apartment so it is unknown how much of my furniture will remain. It will likely include a very large wooden desk, a coffee table, an ugly but comfortable sleeper sofa, a tall bookshelf, and an enormous wardrobe with a mirror. Our preferred new roommate would fill the main renter role.
