Your room is ca. 16sq m, with a window facing South (perfect for the plants!) and the inner yard. The ceiling is quite high, so there are no shoebox-living vibes here.
The room gets a lot of light during the day, and is pretty quiet, since it is not facing the street.
The kitchen is, as they say, klein aber fein. It has everything it needs: a fridge, a toaster and a dishwasher, as well as a couple of plants and a vast variety of spices for your cooking.
In the bathroom you can find everything that a bathroom must contain, including a bathtub (a tiny element of luxury in a city like Leipzig) + a bunch of plants, which serve as quiet companions to your solitude.
The street leads directly to the S-Bahn Plagwitz. A tram and a bus towards East are also 10 min from your door. The infamous Karl-Heine-Strasse is 10-15 min walking distance from you, so there is no deficit in good coffee or food or action if you are looking for some. The Canal is 5 min from your door in case you are in the mood for the evening promenade.
For routine shopping we have a sad little Lidl (5 min) and a whole cluster of shops to fulfill your capitalism-driven desires: dm, REWE, Penny and Brotagonist. For those who love non-conventional pleasures we have a really great oldschool Feinbäckerei on our street, so if you wake up at 6 and are at their door at 7, you may be lucky to find yourself first in line for seriously good bread and pastry sold by people who know their yeast.
You will be living with Polina, who is now working at Max Planck. Polina is a pastry-addict, who goes through life hunting for old printed book editions. Polina speaks some horrible German and French, English, broken Portuguese and Russian.
Your second flatmate is Sani, who is an ASPIRING economist, loves doing sports and cooks something delicious virtually every evening. Sani speaks flawless German, English and Indonesian.
Eggs and meat are cooked in the apartment occasionally. If you live vegan/vegetarian, we respect that and avoid cross-contamination at all costs.
We are really enjoying living and hanging out together and are hoping to find a person who can vibe with us and not just limit the conversation to weather talk. Though complaining about weather together is a regular practice during lazy kitchen mornings here!
Our WG-life is pretty food/cooking-centered, we often put some music on and just have a couple of drinks, while someone is making something for dinner. We share most of the household items (detergent, soap) and generic products like rice, flour, sugar, oil, onions, etc, and you can always help yourself with something you find in the fridge in case you run out of pasta sauce or pickles.
We have to say ‘no’ right away to racist, homophobic, transphobic, strictly right wing, antivax candidates, because, let’s face is, it just won’t work between us.
Please write a line or two about yourself: this way we can have a first impression. In case you read until here, we would be thrilled to know the answer to a ground-shattering WG question of all times: what is the ultimate, the only right way to hang the toilet paper: loose end outside or facing the wall? If you don’t mind sharing!
