ENGLISH VERSION
Hello everyone!
An important note before: We will search for a new flatmate from 1.7., but we will have another free room from 1.8. (17m2), so if you are a couple or two friends, feel free to drop us a line as well :) And now to the facts about the room and the WG:
Since I want to try living on the countryside, my room in our lovely WG will be free. The room is facing the beautiful backyard. You will hardly find a more beautiful place to wake up in the middle of the city: Birds are chirping, you can see the beautiful walnut tree from the window, it's really quiet. I will miss it very much! The downside is that the room is not the brightest, but it didn't bother me much (I'd say it's still okay). We live on the mezzanine, so it is always pleasantly cool in the summer here. We have wooden floor throughout the apartment, including in your future room. The house is an old building and therefore has beautiful old doors and high ceilings. We also have a cozy kitchen and a large balcony where we spend most of the WG time together.
Location
We live in Reudnitz. The location has advantages and disadvantages. It is mostly a residential area, meaning it's rather quiet and you don't have the “Kiez feeling”. At the same time, it's not far to Eisi & Co, and recently a few nice cafes and bars have opened up here. Lene Park is a great place to drink a beer and watch people, and Friedenspark is just down the street.
Supermarkets are just around the corner: Rewe about 4 minutes, Aldi about 7 minutes walk. A Späti, where we pick up our vegetable box, is about 5 minutes away.
It takes about 15 minutes by bike to get to the main train station, and 10 to get to the Eisi area.
WG-Life
There are four of us here and we all get along very well so far 😊 Your future roommates are Alexis, Miriam and Pinar.
Alexis is from France and is currently training to be a yoga teacher. He loves electronic music and spends a lot of time with it, both actively (as a DJ) and passively (listening and searching for music). He likes the nightlife, but at the same time has a calm and peaceful side. He spends his time mostly with doing sports, cooking and eating delicious healthy food and his friends. In the WG, Alexis is a warm, interested and considerate person who often cooks for everyone (very tasty), is thoughtful and stimulating, always open for both funny and serious conversations, but also likes to retreat now and then and have space for himself. Alexis speaks French, English and German.
Miriam is from Italy and is currently doing her PhD in Jena. She is a cheerful, funny and entertaining person with whom you can always laugh but also talk about your problems. She is a little bundle of energy and is on the road a lot, may it be it rollerblading, bouldering, jam sessions (Miriam loves music too), bars and clubs, open airs or flea markets, ... with her it will definitely not be boring! Although she is on the road a lot, she also likes to take time for the WG and is there for you in times of need. Miriam speaks Italian and English and started to learn German.
Pinar is from Germany and is studying environmental engineering. She is currently in Leipzig for an internship. She is an interim tenant and will therefore only be there for a short time when you move in. The nice thing about it is that you get to decide who comes next (or bring a friend?). Pinar is a bright, warm person who likes to spend time with friends and is interested in other people. She likes to try out new things (e.g. she instantly grabbed my sourdough and baked a loaf of bread) and initiates joint activities. Besides her internship, she likes to go bouldering (it's kind of the WG hobby here). She speaks English and German.
So far, we've definitely had a friendly, amicable WG life, and we want to keep it that way. Every now and then we all cook together or do other things together like playing games, doing yoga, bouldering, going out to parties. When all four of us get together, it’s usually planned, the rest happens spontaneously in different constellations. Recently we also organized a big WG party, which will stay in our memories for a long time! Although that may sound very busy, don't worry: We often have quiet evenings where everyone does their thing and it's perfectly okay to take your time out. We all get along very well with each other and therefore have a harmonious and sociable life together. This is important to us and we would like it if you would be in for that as well. Overall, we value a friendly, communicative atmosphere and are looking for a person who fits in well here!
We share our food for the most part (especially basic groceries like pasta, flour, etc.). We also bake delicious sourdough bread ourselves from time to time (but lately this has fallen asleep a bit - maybe you'll wake it up again?). We share a weekly veggie box, which you'd be welcome to join in on as well. We generally eat vegetarian or vegan when we eat together. So these were the facts!
If this appeals to you, feel free to drop us a line and tell us a little bit about yourself!
We are a bit flexible with the move-in date if necessary. We would get in touch with you and plan the casting dates at the end of May/beginning of June.
