Schleußig is the only island in Leipzig!
The location is ideal, directly on Könneritzstraße. Public transport (trams 1 and 2, buses 60 and 74), supermarkets (Konsum, Netto and organic food shop), late-night cafés and bistros are just a few minutes' walk away.

The Auwald forest is just a few minutes' walk away, inviting you to take long walks, as are the canal, parks and rivers.

It is also only a few minutes by bike through the greenery to the southern suburbs or the city centre, where most of the university buildings are located. In the other direction, the creative and alternative neighbourhoods of Plagwitz and Lindenau beckon. If you prefer to hang out in the east of Leipzig, a tram runs right through the front door.

The Leipzig lakes can also be reached quickly by bike in about 30 minutes :)

Schleußig ist die einzige Insel Leipzigs!
Die Lage ist optimal, direkt an der Könneritzstraße. ÖPNV (Tram 1 und 2, Bus 60 und 74) ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen, Supermärkte (Konsum, Netto und Bioladen), Spätis und Bistros ebenso.

Nur wenige Fußminuten entfernt ist der Auwald zu ausgedehnten Spaziergängen einlädt, sowie der Kanal, Parks und Flüsse.

Mit dem Rad ist es zudem durchs Grüne nur wenige Minuten in die Südvorstadt oder ins Zentrum, wo die meisten Unigebäude sind. In die andere Richtung locken die kreativ-alternativen Viertel Plagwitz und Lindenau. Falls du lieber im Leipziger Osten abhängst, fährt eine Tram vor der Haustür direkt durch.

Auch die Leipziger Seen sind mit dem Rad in etwa 30min schnell erreicht :)

We are a flat share of 4 and work/study in or outside Leipzig. The upper floor and the roof terrace offer enough space and facilities for eating together, games and film evenings, visits or celebrations.

We, Maryna, Zhenia and Nele, want to live together in a spirit of solidarity and respect. What do we mean by that?
For us, this includes occasional evenings together, open and non-violent communication about needs and being able to listen to each other. As languages we use German, Ukrainian or English. Some also speak other languages such as French or little Italian. We tend to be a relaxed flat share (no party flat share!) and all have our own lives, but if individual plans allow, this also means we like to spend time or have activities together - both indoors and outdoors. We usually see each other on the roof terrace or in the neighbouring living area, where we eat, chat or hang out together.
In short, this is not a functional flat share!

Your new flatmates are...

(Nele about Maryna)
Maryna (36, female), works in the theatre (costume/stage) and is therefore more or less present depending on the repertoire. Her free time is also mainly filled with any form of culture (preferably dance). She is cheerful, open-hearted and profound. This means you can really have fun with her and laugh a lot, but you can also talk or philosophise with her about anything. Specially Italy is a hot topic ;) She tackles challenges and knows exactly what she wants. If she needs some time to herself, she'll let you know, but she's also always up for a bit of banter.

My name is Zhenia (26,f). I'm studying painting and graphics at the HGB. In my free time I like to attend local concerts, exhibitions, watch movies and listen to music. I like to be alone but also like to have fun/work together.

The short time I've been living with Zhenia makes me look forward to our future together with great anticipation. Zhenia has a wonderful open honest communication, likes to go out with you spontaneously to explore the evening and is looking forward to all the joint projects that may come.

(Miguel about Nele)
Nele is in her late 30s, knows mich about bicycles and lives vegan. She works independently in product design, interior design and a lot with wood. She's great to talk to about nature, birds and mushroom hikes. Nele says about herself that she likes honest, direct people (subtlety is not her thing), music, sporting and cultural activities and bike polo. Bikepolo keeps Nele busy, especially in the summer, and she is occasionally out and about with the sports community. Nele also enjoys spending relaxing time in a quiet cottage in the woods, where she likes to spend long weekends, after which she rejoins our city-home happy and relaxed.

For all of us, home must feel safe and we want a shared place to relax and unwind. As flatmates, we want to be able to talk about everything and also enjoy doing things outside the flat. But we also say that if we need time to ourselves, we'll let you know. If you have a busy life yourself like education or work we are fine with it and share similar episodes in life from time to time. Netherless we hope for personal interest into each other and openness for the people you will live with.

Wir sind eine 4er-WG und arbeiten/studieren in oder außerhalb von Leipzig. Das Obergeschoss und die Dachterrasse bieten genug Platz und Ausstattung für gemeinsames Essen, Spiele- und Filmabende, Besuch oder Feierlichkeiten.

Wir, Maryna, Zhenia und Nele, wünschen uns ein solidarisches und achtsames Zusammenleben. Was wir darunter verstehen?
Für uns gehören dazu gelegentliche gemeinsame Abende, eine offene und gewaltfreie Kommunikation über Bedürfnisse und das einander Zuhören können. Als Sprachen nutzen wir Deutsch, Ukrainisch oder Englisch. Einige sprechen auch andere Sprachen wie Französisch oder etwas Italienisch. Wir sind tendenziell eine ruhige WG und haben alle ein eigenes Leben, aber wenn es die individuellen Pläne zulassen, bedeutet das auch gerne gemeinsame Ausflüge oder Aktivitäten sowohl drinnen, als auch draußen. Meist sehen wir uns auf der Dachterrasse oder im anliegenden Wohnbereich, wo wir mal gemeinsam essen, schnacken oder abhängen.
Kurzum, dies ist keine Zweck-WG!

Maryna (36,w), berufstätig im Theater (Kostüm/Bühne) und dementsprechend je nach Spielplan mal mehr oder weniger anwesend. Auch ihre Freizeit ist hauptsächlich mit jeglicher Form von Kultur (am liebsten Tanz) gefüllt. Sie ist lebensfroh, offenherzig und tiefgründig. Heißt man kann so richtig Spaß mit ihr haben und viel lachen, aber genauso gut über alles mit ihr reden oder rumphilosophieren. Sie packt an und weiß ganz genau was sie will. Falls sie ihre Zeit für sich braucht, lässt sie es dich wissen, aber ebenso ist sie gerne für gemeinsamen Schabernack zu haben.

Die kurze Zeit, die ich mit Zhenia jetzt zusammenlebe, lässt mich mit Vorfreude in unsere gemeinsame Zukunft blicken. Zhenia hat eine wunderbare offene ehrliche Kommunikation, geht gerne auch mal spontan mit dir raus den Abend zu erkunden und freut sich auf alle gemeinsamen Projekte die da kommen mögen.

Nele bin Ende 30, kennt sich super gut mit Fahrrädern aus und ernährt sich überwiegend vegan. Sie arbeitet selbstständig im Bereich Produktdesign, Raumgestaltung und viel mit Holz. Mit ihr kannst du gut über Natur, Vögel und Pilzwanderungen sprechen. Über sich selbst sagt Nele, dass sie ehrliche direkte Menschen (Subtilität ist nicht so ihr Ding), Musik, sportliche sowie kulturelle Aktivitäten und Bikepolo mag. Bikepolo beschäftigt Nele gerade im Sommer öfter und sie ist hin und wieder mit der Sportcommunity unterwegs bin. Außerdem verbringt Nele gerne erholsame Zeit in einem ruhigen Häuschen im Wald, wo sie gerne längere Wochenende verbringt.

Für uns alle gilt: Zuhause muss sich sicher anfühlen und wir wollen einen gemeinsamen Ort der zum Ausruhen und Erholen. Unter uns Mitbewohnis möchte wir über alles reden können und auch gern außerhalb der Wohnung mal was unternehmen. Wir sagen aber auch, wenn wir mal Zeit für uns brauche, lassen es dich wissen. Wenn du ein volles Leben selbst mit Uni, Weiterbildung oder Arbeit, sind wir in Ordnung mit ihm und teilen gelegentlich ähnliche Episoden in unseren Leben. Ungeachtet dessen wünschen wir uns ein persönliches Interesse aneinander und auf deine Offenheit für die Menschen, mit denen du zusammenleben wirst.

Miguel’s (who lives in the room atm) return date isn’t fixed yet. The room will be available at least until summer 2025 and the move out date kind of flexible around august, September, October. We’ll prefer people who plan to stay for the full period. Let us know what you need :)
