The room is about 17 m*2 big. Its very bright, because of the big windows, it also has a little balcony. The room is in a good condition if you consider that the flat already exists for some years.
The WG is located on the fifth floor (a lot of families and some WGs), few meters from the Goetheplatz. You’ll find enough possibilities for grocery shopping, such as REWE (3 min), ALDI and LIDL (10 mins) by foot. The central station is easily walkable (around 10 mins) – if you don't want to walk you can directly take the bus or the tram from the station Lessingstraße which will take you to the city, university or elsewhere.
You are going to live with Mailys, Oskar and Christin. We thought that it might be funny to describe each other, so here's what your future flatmates have to say about each other:
This is what Yumi (current roomie) writes about Mailys:
Hey there, potential roomie! Meet Mailys—your soon-to-be favorite French import. She will join the flat at the same time as you, but since her and Christin have been together for almost 3 years she has spent a lot of time here before officially moving in, in April.
Picture this: a dash of French charm, a lot of kindness, and just a sprinkle crazy humor—that's Mailys. She might come off a tad shy at first but once you crack her shell, you're in for a barrel of laughs. Seriously, her humor game is strong.
In her studies, Mailys is all about that bio life. She's been dabbling in the science of those tiny earwigs, but rumor has it she's plotting a career change. Why? Because she's got a heart as big as her love for croissants, and she's all about championing animal welfare.
She's always up for an impromptu soirée or a cozy evening in with friends or for collaborating in the kitchen to cook a nice meal. And when it comes to conversations, Mailys is also an attentive listener.
In short, Mailys is a guaranteed source of joy in your everyday life. So, if you're ready to elevate your living situation in our flat, say bonjour to Mailys.
This is what Teresa (current roomie) writes about Christin:
When she's not on the road with her numerous friends or in Brittany, Christin can usually be found on the balcony or in the kitchen. Meaning: cooking/eating/chatting & laughing together is an integral part of the shared everyday life with Christin (alternatively also called Kriskros). Whether philosophical conversations about peanuts over a glass of Aperol on the balcony or the energetic intervention when the toilet is clogged: Xtin is versatile. In her preferences you will definitely find the 2000s in any form (the Paris Hilton poster in the room is 1 indication), an amazing music knowledge of the same and the previous decade, but also crocheting and crafting are among her passions. Xtin in 3 adjectives: funny, colorful, empathetic. But you'll see for yourselves. :)
Last but not least, here's what Christin says about Oskar:
Oskar is the last one to join our flat-sharing community, but he has been a part of it from the very beginning. He is very kind-hearted and funny but can get quite competitive playing card-/boardgames LoL. When he's not writing subtitles for Bares für Rares (a.k.a. working) or busy at uni studying Linguistics and literature, you will most likely find him preparing an elaborate meal in the kitchen. You can always learn sth new from his culinary knowledge and cooking/eating together is a guarantee for a good time - Just like spending hours solving crossword puzzles at the kitchen table together. Oskar is super open and easy to get along with and always there if you need something/someone.
And a last lil paragraph from all of us:
We are not a Zweck-WG - we like to spend time together, like cooking, playing games, watching movies or just talking, so we're looking for someone who's interested in that as well (which is obv. not meant as a 24h/7 commitment lol)
There are a few things that are really important to us: We would like to maintain the flat clean. We enjoy wine and other drinks but we don't party every month and we don’t want to live with nationalistic, misanthropic people that share these values.
Also, just to make sure we're not getting only STRG-V-Messages, please put a little xoxo in your message for us!
Thank you for reading - looking forward to meeting you :)
FYI: Sadly, two of our roomies are moving to other cities, so two rooms are freeing up in our flat: one will be taken by Mailys (Christins GF) who'll also move in in April, the other one is still free :)
Also, we decided to write it all in English, since we do not all speak German and thought it would be best to try & keep it in English so English answers are very welcome, thank you <3
You can write us here (WG-Gesucht). It would be nice if you could include some words about you too (what are you doing, what's important to you especially in a shared flat, some information about your personality). Then we will reply to you and try to find a time for a visit :)
