Hello!
As I am moving, my room will be free from the beginning of November (but an earlier move in date can also be arranged if needed).
The room is about 8 sqm and faces the garden, and best of all it comes fully furnished with a bed (120 or 140, not quite sure), a desk and chair, drawer, huge closet, laundry basket and shoe rack. So there is definitely enough space if you have a lot of stuff!!
The entrance space has shelves to leave shoes and jackets, and also possible to leave your bike right outside the house!
The kitchen is fully equipped with a micro wave, oven, dish washer and also everything that one could need of kitchen utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses, mugs, etc. There are 3 fridges divided on 10 people, so there is enough fridge space, and also plenty of pantry space as well.
In the basement we also have a washing machine, dryer and space to hang up our clothes to dry.
We also have a dining space with a huge table that fits everybody, and is where everybody hangs out, eats, drinks and have chats.
The house has two toilets and two showers, being 10 people sharing two bathrooms can sound crampy, but it works out surprisingly good, as people have totally different schedules and somehow don't bump into each other in the mornings. Besides, the bathroom I'm using is currently only being shared with 2 other people:)
As we're a lot of people living together it can get messy, so we're looking for someone who is clean and knows how to clean up after themselves. We do have a cleaning lady that comes by two times a week, and we are not super strict with the cleaning plan, but we do expect you to clean up after you've used something. Additionally, we do a common cleaning the weeks the cleaning lady is not here, which takes less than 1 hour when everyone in the flat joins.
The house is in a quiet and safe neighborhood, with only 8 minutes walk to the nearest U-bahn station, Harthof.
- Hautbahhof, it takes in total 21 minutes to get there with the U2.
- To Universität, it takes about 30 minutes to get there with the U-bahn, but if you're like me and prefer to bike everywhere it also takes 30 minutes to reach the city centre by bike. Depending on how fast you bike, the average biker could probably make it in 20-25 minutes.
- To Garching, it takes 45 minutes (according to Google), and a wooping 25 minutes if you do bike + U6 combo.
- To BMW/Frankfurter Ring, 15 minutes with U2 if you're lazy, less than 10 minutes with bike.
There are also a good number of shops, we have an Edeka right around the corner, or else ALDI, Lidl and Rewe are all reachable by bike in 10 minutes.
Luitpoldpark and Olympiapark (and Bierstube) are the two parks that are the closest and reachable in less than 20 minutes (by bike), Englischer Garten is 30 minutes, but doesn't really feel like 30 minutes once you get used to it.
In the WG there is a good mix between students, interns and full time workers, but we're all in our 20s. And also a good balance between internationals and Germans living together in harmony, great environment if you want to learn German or English, or in general like to hang out with people with different backgrounds.
As there are many people living together there is always something going on, especially in the weekends. For example, we try to do a weekly volleyball match in the park, as Paula just bought a whole volleyball set!! Or else there are always people who's up to do stuff, like going to the cinema, have a game night, and also parties are also arranged once in a while;) With that said, it is not a party flat though. On weekdays, as most people need to work, we're trying to be a bit more chilled, with dinner and a chat, and maybe a beer.
You basically decide yourself how much you want to interact with people, it's not a must, but you will always have the opportunity. Your future roommates are also really respectful, if there is something (as it usually it with many people living together), we tell each other and it gets solved. So nothing to worry about in that department!
For us it does not matter if you're a boy or girl, how old you are or what you are doing, as long as you are respectable and a cool person you are welcome to stay here. If this environment sound like something you would like to be a part of send us a message and we'll arrange a viewing during this week!
If you have any further questions do not hesitate the send me a message, and I'll be happy to answer :)
Cheers,
Tina
