Looking for a (shared) flat in Nijmegen!

Hey! I’m Marlene! I’m a soon-to-be Master’s student in Environment and Society Studies at RU and will be moving to Nijmegen soon. The only thing missing for moving is, well … a flat. So here I am, looking for a room in a shared flat (preferably) from 1 September onwards. I’m currently living next to Ulm in South Germany, waiting impatiently for almost one year now to finally move to the Netherlands. I already did my Pre-Master’s at RU but due to the pandemic I didn’t move to Nijmegen yet. However, I’ve not always lived in Ulm, but also in Mannheim, Munich, Peru and Copenhagen! I very much appreciate moving to new places, getting to know new people, cultures and languages – although my Dutch skills are not yet existent ;-) I consider myself as pretty chilled girl, very experienced in living together with roomies ranging from 18 to 49 and with a great affinity for coffee, food and the mountains. I know that the latter is hard to find in Nijmegen, but I have quite elaborate skills in skiing and I’m always keen to offer free skiing classes to friends! When not skiing or hiking in the mountains, I really enjoy swimming in public pools, rivers or the sea, all sorts of dancing and pilates. Since I’m 25 already and won’t get younger anymore, my body very much knows hangovers, but still I rarely deny great evenings and long nights. In other words: the occasional party is welcome, but I also enjoy sleeping and quiet nights. I love intellectual conversations (or just fun ones), cooking for small and large gatherings, meeting friends for one or three beers and visiting new places. Concerning my future place of residence, I’m pretty much open to any option. For me, it’s not so much about the kind of (shared) flat I find, it’s more about finding a place where I feel at home and comfortable. I’d prefer a private shared flat over regular student housing, but it’s no definite must.
