Hi!
We’re looking for a new flatmate who would get along well with us and will be in Tübingen for at least a year. Please take your time to read through our description below before you get in touch! 😊
This is the English version of our offer, which is also available in German: https://www.wg-gesucht.de/7340601.html
Overview (in case you have trouble understanding the German webpage): The room is available from 1st October, possibly a bit earlier. It’s on the ground floor, but not barrier-free. The rent is 294 €, all-inclusive, with a 500 € deposit. If you’ve got a car, you can get a resident’s parking permit. We're looking for a female flatmate, aged 22-28, non-smoking.
Room
The room is on the southern side of our flat, with a view on a green garden. The flat is on the ground floor of a 4-story block of flats with families, students and a ton of bicycles.
Our kitchen is small but cozy and well-suited for relaxed cooking nights, waffle breakfasts or a cup of tea/coffee with your flatmates. We’ve got an extra freezer in the basement to store ice-cream, pre-cooked dishes or whatever you want to freeze. Although it’s really small, you could also store a thing or two in the cellar.
The bathroom is also rather small but we have a separate toilet, so usually there aren’t any jams.
Our balcony leads off from the room of your future flatmate Julia and can be used by everyone. The hallway is spacious enough for a Christmas tree and you will also find our landline and flat planner there.
Jana would like to give away her wardrobe and bookshelves. Unfortunately, her furniture isn’t visible on the current photos, but we’ll replace them as soon as possible 😊
Our flat is situated in a residential area, 3 min. off the bus stop Uni-Kliniken Tal. With number 5 you’ll get to the town centre or Uni-Kliniken Berg/Morgenstelle in about 5 minutes. The bus stop Calwerstraße also isn’t far. On foot, you’d need about 10 minutes to reach the historic city or 20-30 minutes uphill to Morgenstelle – or 15 minutes by bike, if you have a good one 😊
The closest shopping possiblities are Nonnenhaus (Edeka, dm), the Rewe at Mohlstraße or – by bus - Penny up at Wanne.
Currently, Marie, Julia, Sophie and Jana live in the flat. Sadly, Jana finishes her studies this term and and won’t stay in Tübingen.
Julia, 27, (favourite bar: Asmara), studies English & Computer Science for Education. She’s almost finished, too, but hopes that she can stay in Tübingen for her teacher training. She loves ballet and other sports. She’s been eating a vegan diet since January and is still trying to find a new favourite meal. If it weren’t for Corona, she would love to be out and about with friends to enjoy student life to the fullest one last time…
She’s got a sofa in her room, so we’re usually there for movie or board game nights.
Marie, 24 (favourite bar: Bären) is a medical student in her 7th semester. She’s an open and enthusiastic person who likes to laugh and is fond of good living.
She likes to go out and if it weren’t for Corona, she’d spend the summer in the old Bota or with a glass of of wine at the historic centre. Her highlight for this summer would have been a rowing course on the Neckar. In addition to her studies, she works at the German foundation for organ transplantation.
Sophie, 24, (favourite bar: Irish), studies Economics and Business Administration and is in her 6th semester. She hopes for a master place in Tübingen, but it’s still uncertain whether she can stay. Sophie tends to procrastinate during the day and instead spends the night to catch up with her work. She likes snowboarding and surfing and if it weren’t for Corona, she’d have liked to try climbing with the Hochschulsport.
As flatmates, we like to be together and just chat in the kitchen, our rooms or on the balcony, often with a glass of wine (or two). We always have a sympathetic ear for each other, but if you want to have your peace, you’ll get it.
We like to cook together (currently we work through the colours of the rainbow), watch a film or play board/card games. In the summer, we have BBQs and self-made cocktails and during the Advent season we love baking biscuits or have a cup of glühwein. We also love our larger flat activities that we somehow manage to squeeze into our full schedules. We’ve already done crime dinners, did a high rope course and went for a walk with alpacas :D Because we all like to surf, our ultimate “WG event” would be a surf trip.
Summary: We’ve all been studying for a while now, prefer our own kitchen over the canteen, do a lot of sports (more or less) and like to spend time together.
You …
- are neither looking for a room just for convenience nor a party flat,
- have fun at WG activities and like to just hang out with your flatmates from time to time,
- can handle a cleaning rota,
- plan to be in Tübingen for at least a year and
- just feel like you’d fit in with us?
Then please get in touch!
Utilities include electricity, Wi-Fi and radio licence fees (GEZ). The only additional costs are the annual bill taxes in January.
From experience, we expect quite a large number of requests. Therefore, we won’t answer any run-of-the-mill messages. Please tell us something about yourself 😉
Please include your mobile number if you don’t mind. It makes contacting easier (but you really don’t have to).
We’ll find individual dates for views of the flat (online or live), so there’s no fixed viewing appointment.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
Best,
Marie, Sophie & Julia
