Brief note: I have a current base of operations so I'm only looking for something long-term; 1 or 2-month rents are not interesting to me, sorry!
Heya, the name's Vinay Jayaram--I'm a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute up near WHO, just about 9 months into living in Germany. I live by myself now, but I used to live in a WG in the 'states and I find that I miss the company and the kitchen. I sing, I play piano, I watch Netflix, and I do some sports in my free time. I'm not fluent in German, but I speak it OK--the Akademischer Chor has rehearsals in the language and I understand fine (I just feel weird trying to write it formally). I know how to live with other people and how to follow a cleaning plan and I really enjoy cooking, both comfort foods for myself and more exotic things. Recently I've been enjoying some Japanese recipes but I would love to learn some German ones as well.
What I'm looking for is a room in a flat with some relaxed people who wouldn't mind beers in the evening, grilling, and general fun (also movies). Somewhere near WHO would be most convenient; something like 300 euro average for rent would be great. While I'm pretty young I don't count as a student any more...I'm not so into crazy partying and loud music, but rather more relaxed things (plus I spend a lot of time in lab). I'd love to hear from people with a place!
