3er WG in Ulmer Stadtmitte

Die Wohnung liegt in der Ulmer Innenstadt, direkt gegenüber dem Parkhaus Salzstadel direkt an der Platzgasse. Bis zum Münster sind es 250 m, zum Theater (Straßenbahn und Busse) 400 m. Zum Hauptbahnhof Ulm sind es 600 m zu Fuß.

Auto: Aufgrund der zentralen Lage ist die Parksituation sehr schwierig und man müsste wirklich suchen. Von uns hat aktuell nur einer ein Motorrad vor dem Haus stehen.
Lebensmittel: Norma, Aldi, Rewe, Edeka sowie ein Trinki-Getränkemarkt in Laufweite
Am Mittwoch und Samstag gibt es den Wochenmarkt auf dem Münsterplatz (200 m).

Für alles restliche gibt es die Einkaufspassage direkt vor der Tür.

The apartment is located in the heart of Ulm, directly across from the Salzstadel parking garage on Platzgasse. The Münster is just 250 m away, while the Theater tram and bus stop is a mere 400 m away. Ulm's main train station is within a 600 m walking distance.

Car: Due to its central location, parking can be quite challenging, and one would need to search diligently. Currently, only one of us has a motorcycle parked in front of the house.
Groceries: Norma, Aldi, Rewe, Edeka, and a Trinki beverage market are all within walking distance.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, there is a weekly market on Münsterplatz (200 m away).

For everything else, there is a shopping passage right at our doorstep.

Wir sind Kay (35) und Karla (33). Kay hat einen Doktor in Physik und bis vor kurzem in einem Startup an der Uni gearbeitet. Jetzt nimmt er sich vorübergehend Zeit für seine vielfältigen Hobbies, wie sein Engagement beim THW, Rezepte zu perfektionieren und zu reisen. Karla ist für ihr Masterstudium aus Amerika nach Deutschland gekommen und ist jetzt Doktorandin in Neurobiologie an der Uni Ulm. Wenn sie nicht arbeitet, spielt sie Klavier, mach Sport oder pflegt ihre Pflanzen. Wenn wir Zeit haben, kochen wir zusammen, spielen (Gesellschafts-) Spiele oder grillen auf dem Balkon.

Als Gemeinschaftsraum steht das Wohn- und Esszimmer mit Fernseher und allen möglichen Streaminganbietern zur Verfügung. Ein Bad und ein separates Klo sind vorhanden, sodass sich die Situation am morgen entspannt.

Die Wohnung ist im 3. OG in einem kernsanierten Altbau (kein Aufzug). Alle Räume werden per LAN-Dosen mit Internet versorgt (Kabel), aber WLAN ist auch vorhanden. Die Böden sind ein schönes altes (abgeschliffenes) Parkett und knarzen dabei leider. Auch die Türen sind noch die alten, was sie sehr schön aber die ganze Wohnung recht hellhörig macht.
Es gibt auch einen (Süd-)Balkon mit einem phänomenalen Münsterblick, der im Sommer häufig zum Grillen genutzt wird. Um uns das Leben einfacher zu machen, haben wir eine Putzkraft, die sich alle zwei Wochen um das Gröbste kümmert (Kosten siehe Details). Wie mit allen anderen Kosten, werden alle anfallenden Kosten gleichmäßig, unabhängig von der Zimmergröße, aufgeteilt.

We are Kay (35) and Karla (33). Kay has a PhD in Physics. Until recently, he was working for a startup at the University. He is now taking a little time off of work to catch up on his various other hobbies such as THW, perfecting recipes and traveling. Karla came to Germany from the US as a masters student and is now a PhD student in neurobiology at Ulm University. When she is not working, she enjoys playing the piano, going to the gym and taking care of her plants.
Whenever we have time, we enjoy cooking together, playing board games or grilling on the balcony.

The shared living and dining room is available as a communal space, complete with a television and access to various streaming services. There is a bathroom and a separate toilet, ensuring a relaxed morning routine.

The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a renovated historical building (no elevator). All rooms are equipped with LAN connections for internet access (Ethernet), but Wi-Fi is also available. The floors feature beautiful old (refinished) parquet that unfortunately creaks. The doors are also the original ones, which adds to their charm but makes the apartment somewhat susceptible to noise. There is a balcony (facing south) with a phenomenal view of the Münster, which we often use for summer grilling sessions. To make our lives easier, we have a cleaning service that takes care of the major cleaning tasks every two weeks (costs detailed below). Just like all other expenses, we split the costs evenly among all roommates, regardless of room size.
