You have a super nice balcony outside your room! It's connected to a shared balcony. However, you can put a divider up to create a nice spot to relax in the sun in private, if you'd like.

We are LGBTQI+ positive, english speaking, smoking friendly (on balcony only), okay for meat-eaters, though we typically cook vegan/vegetarian food. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of the family, open to talking, complaining about work, being there for each other in times of need (like getting stuff from Spar, nothing too serious), and most importantly, the occasional household dinner and drinks.

Also, we are hoping to find someone who can stay here long term, meaning at minimum 6 months, but at least 1 year would be highly preferable.

We are a relatively new wg. We've been here since Sep and been busy travelling for work and holiday stuff. As such, the house is a bit of a blank canvas, but you can expect lots of plants (due to Tim), lots of music (mostly lots of techno and Australian music (also due to Tim)), lots of real-life music (Cat is a proper violinist and practises all the time), and of course, some nice furniture, in due time.

However -- the house is a very strange shape. The main living area is like a big triangle, not a rectangle. This will make furnishing require a little bit of creativity. Hopefully you view this as something exciting and not so stressful :) There is of course no obligation to contribute to decorating the house, but your creative input would always be appreciated!

Also PLEASE NOTE:::: the pictures attached to this ad are old. The kitchen and balcony have been renovated and are currently looking much better.

THE FLATMATES:
I (Tim, he/him, 25) am a PhD student here. I moved here start of 2023 from Perth, Australia (but lived in Melbourne and then Japan over the last 8 years). I spend most of my time studying, researching for work, listening to techno, and just doing random spontaneous things. I am also into going on weekend trips for raves (particularly into minimal techno, whatever genre X CLUB is, and donk), and general tourist behaviour. You might find me practising languages, stressing about my phd, begging my friends (and maybe even you!) to tag along with me to a precarious location for a party, or just in general doing australian things (drinking, swearing, looking out for crocodiles).

The other housemate, Catherina (she/her, 27), is a violinist, coincidentally also from Australia, but has lived here for over a decade. Cat is currently abroad in Germany and plans to return to the flat around Feb 2024. Since you probably won't meet her for a while, just trust she's a super nice person :)

Currently her room is subletted to Victor (he/him, 25), who is a lovely person and one of the family. He is from the US, but I promise still an amazing, warm person. He will be completing some amazing research (evolution of social and biological systems) until Cat returns. You might find him meditating, showing off his incredible latin dance moves, cooking his famous dahl, or furiously writing PhD applications!
