Your future room looks onto the quiet courtyard with a large chestnut tree. It is facing south west meaning that it is very sunny in the afternoon and you can even grow small tomatoes in the window! It is 12 square meters large, but seems a lot bigger in my opinion. You would be very welcome to have a clothing rack etc in the hallway. A lot of stuff also fits in the storage room. The room will be unfurnished, so you have the chance to decorate it just how you would like :)
The flat
is located in the 5th district. It takes 5 minutes to walk to Laurenzgasse (lines 1, 62, Badner Bahn) and 10 minutes to U4 Pilgramgasse. The neighbourhood is pretty quiet but just a short walk from the cafés and shops around Margaretenstrasse.
It's easy to walk to Naschmarkt and if you long for nature Wienerberg is close by.
It is a very light and spacious 75 square meter flat located on the 4th floor (no lift). There is a kitchen with a small dining table, a large living room and a lot of space in the hallway. There’s a large bathroom with a bathtub and washing machine, a separate small toilet and a small storage room (Abstellkammer).
A lot of the furniture in the living room is in the process of being moved - so if you want to bring furniture with you that would be great, otherwise we can furnish it together :)
Also a brief disclaimer: because of the inflation, the costs of gas and electricity might go up, meaning that I cannot guarantee that the rent stays exactly the same. We would share those expenses equally and it would be cool if you also want to try to save electricity and heating as much as possible/comfortable :)
My name is Emilie, I’m 27 years old and originally from Denmark. I speak danish, english and quite good german. I’m studying Expanded Museum Studies at the Angewandte and Kulturmanagement at theMDW. In my spare time I like to read and watch films on mubi or trash tv on netflix. I like to meet friends for drinks, see exhibitions and browse in second hand shops. I also occasionally sell things that I’ve crocheted. In the future I would like to learn more about ceramics and textile art and explore the nature around Vienna.
It’s important to me that we have a thoughtful and friendly relationship and communicate well. I would like our home to be a calm, clean and beautiful base where we can recharge, study, relax and have nice and fun times together. In order to keep the flat clean, I would suggest that we make a cleaning schedule :)
I am looking for a roommate who would like to spend some time together and wants to make the flat feel like it’s a real home. At the same time, I also appreciate and respect privacy and having alone time.
I would like to start a dinner or film club in the flat for our friends and we might be hosting a few meetings for the feminist book club I’m part of. It would be lovely if you are also in on these things!
I will prioritise messages from FLINTA people as I would prefer to live with a woman or queer person.
Cats are very welcome in the flat and I might be considering adopting one.
There will be an Ablöse of 400 euro for the washing machine and fridge.
Smoking out the kitchen window is alright but preferably not all the time.
The room is available immediately but move in is also possible during November.
I will leave the ad up for about a week and then start replying to messages. I won't be replying to copy paste messages - please tell my why this home speaks to you, when you want to move in and for how long you want to stay :)
If you think we would be a good fit, please send me a message telling me about yourself, what your everyday looks like and when you can move in.
I look forward to hearing from you!
All my love,
Emilie
