We are looking for two new roommate for our international, 4-person shared apartment in the 9th district starting between September to October (since Toni and Verena have already moved end august)
The rooms are both very spacious with 2 big windows facing the little side street (nice and quiet). The apartment in general is very spacious, with a large kitchen and a shared living room. (Perfect for movie nights together :)) WC and bathroom are separate. The common rooms have been furnished by the landlord with antique furniture and especially the big ballet mirror in our entrance area is a real eye-catcher!
The 9th district, and especially Porzellangasse, is one of the most popular locations in Vienna! It is a beautiful street with historical buildings, nice cafes and restaurants. Supermarkets (Billa, Spar Bipa) and Tabacco stores are 1 min away. The connection is also ideal: you can easily walk to the center from here, but you also have the Tram D right in front of the door. The U2 Schottentor subway station is a 7-minute walk away. Especially for students of the University of Vienna the location is perfect, by bike you can reach the main campus in 5 min.
Life in our shared flat is super pleasant and very flexible according to the interests of the people who currently live there. At the moment we are:
Verena, 21, physics student with a passion for puzzles and good movies (especially Disney) is a native of Salzburg and has now lived in the US for 2 years. When Verena is in the shower, the 2000 party anthems are blasted throughout the apartment and everyone is in a good mood right away. She is always down for a wine on the balcony or a party night.
Stanish, 28, software engineer and future start up founder from India has been in the WG the longest. He can show you the best coworking spaces and cafes in Vienna. In the evenings (and sometimes already at noon) he likes to dance around the apartment or go to a melonga nearby. He is always open for deep conversations over good food and wine. If your nice to him, he might give you some of his selfmade pumpkin pasta ;)
Toni, 21, psychology student from Munich also moved to Vienna in October and is getting lost less and less. Besides her studies, you can often meet her in secondhand stores, current exhibitions or in a bar. In the apartment you usually hear her Podcasts before you see her, but once that stops she always has an open ear for problems and/or will philosophize about life with you.
Our last roommate Ilay is from Israel and has taken up the room of Chiara who and leave after her Erasmus semester here back to Florence. Ilay loves making shakshuka and is probably one of the chillest people you would be meet. He has a ukelele and a lot of patience. You can definitely go to bouldering with him or just have a drink!
Toni and Verena sadly are leaving the flat at the end of August after their year here. So two rooms will be available from 1st September.
The room was mostly rented for one semester to Erasmus students or interns from abroad, but of course we are open for long term stays too. Since we are an international flat-sharing community, we mostly speak English in the apartment.
The costs are 550 Euro for the room and about 40-50 Euro for utilities. The apartment is generally managed by our landlord/ old roommate (Miroslav). He would therefore also draw up the contract with you after we connect you with him after the interviews. All the contract are with the landlord.
If you think that you could fit in with us and are already looking for a room from March on, then write us a short message about yourself and we can hopefully get to know each other soon!
