Groß Methling ist Teil der Stadt Dargun und liegt 9 KM vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Ein PKW ist hier nicht unbedingt ein Muß, aber sicher von Vorteil.
Durch die Nähe zu Dargun sind zahlreiche Einkaufsmöglickeiten schnell zu erreichen.
In wenigen Minuten ist man aber auch in der nahen Kreisstadt Demmin. Demmin verfügt auch über einen Bahnanschluss.
Der öffentliche Nahverkehr besteht aus einer Busverbindung von Methling über Dargun nach Malchin. Dieser verkehrt Wochentags und Samstags. Die Rückfahrt von Malchin oder Dargun ist Nachmittags.
DSL über LTE von Vodafone ist in Groß Methling möglich.
Die Telekom gibt ebenfalls die Verfügbarkeit von VDSL an.
