THE CONCEPT: Arrive with just your suitcase. We handle the rest.
Welcome.
Please note right at the beginning: We are a private residential house (a large flatshare / WG managed by a private main tenant), NOT a public student dorm (Studentenwohnheim).
We are a community-focused home designed for smart, open-minded international students, PhDs, and interns who want a stress-free start in Münster.
🌍 Immediate City Registration & No SCHUFA (jetzt beantragen) needed
We know that providing a German credit score (SCHUFA (jetzt beantragen) ) or a German guarantor (Bürgschaft) is almost impossible if you are new to Germany.
Unlike most German landlords, we do NOT ask for these documents. We want to give internationals a fair chance. As long as you can afford the rent and we are a great match, you are on board without unnecessary barriers.
The absolute importance of the "Anmeldung":
We actively support you with your City Registration (Anmeldung) from day one. We want to kindly but firmly remind you how crucial this registration is in Germany.
Without it, your life here will quickly hit a brick wall. Here are 8 concrete reasons why you urgently need the Anmeldung:
Visa & Residence Permit: Strictly required by the immigration office.
Tax ID (Steuer-ID): Mandatory to get a job or receive your PhD salary.
German Bank Account: You cannot open a standard account without it.
Health Insurance: Needed to fully activate your coverage.
University Enrollment: Required for your final matriculation.
Mobile Phone Contract: Necessary for post-paid contracts.
Deutschlandticket: Required to buy the nationwide transport ticket.
City Services: Needed for library cards and municipal services.
📬 Your Name on the Mailbox & Digital Mail Service:
Once your first month's rent is paid after signing the lease, we will immediately put your name on our mailbox. This ensures that all your crucial letters arrive safely.
Upon your request, we can even open your physical mail, scan it, and send it to you via email so you can handle German bureaucracy before you even arrive.
🗣️ House Language = English:
To ensure everyone feels included, English is our shared house language. You do not need to be fluent, but basic conversational English is an absolute requirement.
If you do not speak any English, we unfortunately cannot consider your application. We will just have a relaxed chat in English during our online video call to make sure we can communicate nicely.
The Room: 11 sqm "Sun Room" on the Second Floor
The offered cozy single room is located on the second floor (which is the level above the first floor/ground floor).
The room is currently vacant and ready for you. If you wish, we can easily set up the rental contract to start even before September 1st, 2026.
It is fully furnished, very bright, and offers a beautiful view of the Sternbuschpark, which is just about 300 meters away.
Furniture & Equipment (included):
Cozy bed (1.00m × 2.00m) with a high-quality mattress and a small nightlight directly attached to it
Cozy desk for your studies or work
Wardrobe with a mirror
Dresser (Kommode) for additional storage
New wooden windows equipped with curtains and electric shutters (elektrische Fensterläden) for a perfect night's sleep
On your move-in day, I will also gladly give you a quick, friendly introduction to the German art of "Lüften" (properly airing out a room). Since Münster gets a fair amount of rain and can sometimes have high humidity, knowing how to easily let fresh air in is super helpful.
To make this completely stress-free for you, your room comes equipped with a high-quality dehumidifier as a great additional service. When used regularly, it is a fantastic and highly effective tool to keep the air perfectly crisp and easily prevent any moisture or mold.
The Floor Situation & Bathroom:
You enjoy a lot of privacy here, as you only have one housemate on the second floor.
The second-floor toilet is just seven steps from your door. It has been renovated with a new window, new sink, new undercabinet, and a new mirror.
Hassle-Free Living (Plug & Play & Dedicated Service):
Like in a hotel, you just move in and do not have to worry about the basics. We use a shared WG-fund to cover all daily essentials. If your contract runs for seven months, this is a one-time fee of € 210. If your contract runs for six months, the one-time fee is € 180.
This flat rate fully provides all shared household essentials and room basics. This includes: duvets, pillows, table and desk lamps, towels, hand soap, paper towels, dishes, cutlery, pans, pots, spices, high-quality cooking oil, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, and much more. In Germany, tenants normally have to buy all of this themselves.
But this fund goes even further than just household items. I genuinely care about your well-being and want you to feel truly at home. Therefore, this fee also covers the fuel costs if we go on joint WG trips together, like visiting the beautiful nearby castle Schloss Nordkirchen.
It also covers our vast collection of board games (including Catan, Monopoly Münster Edition, Kniffel, Chess, and Risk) as well as popcorn, snacks, and sweets for our shared movie or game nights. Furthermore, the fee includes access to a massive entertainment package. On the TV in my shared room, which you can use together with us after a quick chat with me and my roommate, we offer Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, WOW (for soccer and tennis), DAZN (for soccer and darts), YouTube Premium, and Waipu.TV for live German and English television like the BBC.
The idea behind this is simple: The semester fee spares all of us the annoying process of constantly calculating and splitting bills. I want to provide an environment where you can put your full focus entirely on your studies, your PhD, your work, or your internship. You literally do not have to worry about anything else, except, of course, doing your regular weekly cleaning shift and keeping the shared spaces tidy.
Important Note regarding the Semester Fee:
To keep things perfectly fair and simple for everyone, this fee is a fixed flat rate. It applies in full, completely regardless of how much you personally choose to use the physical items, the snacks, or the streaming services. I provide this complete infrastructure as a rare and highly supportive chance for internationals, ensuring nobody is exploited or left alone. It is entirely up to you how much you make use of it. Please kindly understand that trying to renegotiate a fixed community fee is considered extremely impolite in Germany and is often perceived as a personal attack on the host's efforts.
FURTHER EXCLUSIVE BENEFITS & OUR ONLINE CASTING:
You will actually enjoy even more benefits when you move in with me. We have an extended network and infrastructure that gives you access to twice as many social contacts, occasional fun bar nights, and even more screens to watch sports and Netflix together.
Please feel free to ask me about these extra perks during our online video casting, and I will gladly explain them in detail. To give you a first example of this high service level: I will personally pick you up from Münster Central Station or even the airport when you arrive. I am always approachable and do my best to ensure you have the most welcoming, safe, and comfortable start in Germany.
Your Dedicated Host:
I am Mark, the main tenant of this house. I have been passionately managing this project for twelve years and I live right here in the WG with you.
If something breaks, I take action immediately and handle all the communication and stress. Even if I happen to be away, you are always in good hands.
Over the years, I have built a wonderful network of international and German friends in Münster, who, along with my girlfriend and family, are always happy to step in and support the community.
LOCATION: Münster Berg Fidel – The Best of Both Worlds
Our house is located in the southern part of Münster, in the district of Berg Fidel. It is situated in a quiet dead-end street.
There is no through traffic, and the train tracks are far enough away that you will not hear them. You will only hear the birds singing in the morning. It is a highly quiet, safe, and peaceful residential neighborhood.
Connectivity: City Centre (8–20 min by bike/bus), University Campus (15–30 min by bike). The Bus Stop is only a 2-minute walk away (including night buses).
Daily Needs: Supermarket, Pharmacy, ATM, and Post Office are all within a 2-minute walking distance. Nature ("Sternbuschpark") is just a 5-minute walk away.
THE "QUIET COMMUNITY" & "SOCIAL CONTACTS FROM DAY 1"
You are not just renting a room; you are joining a peaceful, like-minded international community. Our house is not a standard "Zweck-WG" where people just live together purely for convenience.
Instead, it is specifically designed to offer you "social contacts from day 1". This is exactly what many internationals desperately miss when arriving in Germany, as they often have to build a social circle completely from scratch while navigating a new culture.
We offer a very rare and special balance: On one hand, we are absolutely no party WG and strictly enforce our quiet hours between 11 PM and 7 AM. On the other hand, we provide immediate social connections and an instant, warm integration into the vibrant life of Münster.
If you are looking for exactly this kind of balance – no wild parties, but great social contacts – you are warmly welcome here. Of course, anyone else who simply appreciates a well-organized home and respects our house rules is just as welcome to apply.
Over the years, countless connections have formed in our house. We have a wonderful, active network right here in Münster, consisting of former German housemates as well as international alumni. If you are an open and engaged housemate, we are always happy to actively connect you.
OUR PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE & THE "PROVE THEM WRONG" CHALLENGE
Do your parents or your social circle back home claim that people from all over the world with different backgrounds and religions cannot live together peacefully?
Prove them wrong – just like we have been doing for 12 years. Since 2014, we have welcomed smart, peaceful housemates from exactly 44 different nations from all continents.
Current Line-Up for the Winter Semester:
One male housemate from India, 23, university student who does an internship for his winter semester (who shares a room with me, Mark)
A male Erasmus student from Romania, 21
A couple from Slovakia, 21 and 23, both Erasmus students (in a shared room)
And, of course, myself, Mark (Main Tenant)
To make this community work perfectly, we have a few important rules:
🚫 Strictly Non-Smokers Only: You must be a 100% non-smoker. Smoking outside the house is also a strict deal-breaker. No vaping. I get severe migraines from the smell of smoke, so this is an absolute health requirement.
❌ No Drugs: Alcohol is fine, cannabis and other drugs are strictly forbidden.
🧹 Cleaning & Tidying: We keep our beautiful home spotless. Everyone cleans max. 1 hour per week via a fair schedule.
🌙 Strict Quiet Hours (11 PM - 7 AM): We are a place to rest, not a party house. Strict quiet time applies. To be very clear: Cooking or having conversations in the kitchen between 11 PM and 7 AM is strictly forbidden. Since this is a typical German house built in 1972 without any modern soundproofing, you would wake up the entire house if you start cooking or chatting at night. There is only one exception: On weekends (Friday and/or Saturday nights), if everyone agrees, we can sit together in the kitchen until 1 AM. On those mornings, the quiet hours apply until 8 AM.
🌿 The 100% Plant-Based House (Absolute Inclusion & Hygiene):
I have been fully vegan since 2010. I did not establish this strict indoor rule to annoy anyone, but simply because I truly love all animals.
Therefore, our entire house is strictly vegan regarding all food and beverages. This means no animal-based food or drinks are allowed anywhere inside the building. Please note that this rule only applies to your diet inside the house. You can of course wear leather shoes, wool sweaters, or use non-vegan cosmetics without any issues.
Additionally, this house-wide rule ensures that our shared home, especially the kitchen, remains a safe, conflict-free space for all cultures and religions. Everyone can share the home and the cooking equipment without ever crossing anyone's dietary or ethical boundaries.
Outside the house, you are of course completely free to eat whatever you like. Münster is a vegan paradise, and I am always happy to help you with your first plant-based shopping trips.
It is incredibly easy to get all kinds of vegan food and drinks everywhere in the city. In fact, discount supermarkets like Lidl have made huge progress over the last two years. They now offer their vegan own-brand products, like sliced cheese, yogurts, and meat alternatives, at the exact same price as the animal-based equivalents, and occasionally even cheaper.
FACILITIES & EXCELLENT EQUIPMENT
Unlike a basic student dorm, we offer a high standard of living:
💪 Home Gym & Entertainment (12 PM - 10 PM sharp): For safety, we train together in small groups (solo workouts are not permitted). Equipped with Netflix, YouTube Premium, Disney+, and Amazon Prime. Please note that the gym area will be available starting around October 15th, 2026.
🖨️ High-Quality Printer: A new DIN A3 printer for your university or work projects.
🌳 The Garden: A private outdoor space with hammocks and a garden swing.
🌿 The Kitchen (20 m2): Fully equipped with a gas stove, huge fridge (with filtered water and filtered ice), stone pizza oven, rice cooker, professional smoothie blender, and citrus press.
🚿 Sanitary Facilities: We have exactly 2 showers, 4 toilets (3 of which are completely separate), and 6 sinks. You will never experience a morning traffic jam in the bathroom. To ensure the house can truly come to rest at night, only the basement shower may be used between 10 PM and 7 AM.
PAYMENT PROCESS & DEPOSIT (Simple & Fair):
We only require the first month's rent immediately after signing the lease.
The security deposit (equal to three months' rent) can be paid at any time after signing, but no later than your move-in day.
Since we do not ask for a SCHUFA (jetzt beantragen) (jetzt beantragen) (jetzt beantragen) credit score or a guarantor, paying this deposit is the only real hurdle we have. As the main tenant, this deposit is my only safety net to ensure I am not left paying out of pocket for any potential damages caused during a tenancy.
I want to handle this in a very welcoming, transparent, and fair way. If your room is left in good condition with no damages or destruction, your full deposit will naturally be refunded to you.
Please just keep in mind that the refund process always takes a little bit of administrative time after you move out, as we need to properly check the room and process the bank transfer. Therefore, the deposit cannot be returned in cash or transferred on the exact day of your departure, but it will be safely sent back to your account shortly after.
🛡️ MANDATORY: Personal Liability Insurance:
Having personal liability insurance (Privathaftpflichtversicherung) is a strict requirement. It only costs about € 40 per year. If you do not have one yet, we will actively help you set it up.
UNDERSTANDING THE GERMAN RENTAL MARKET:
Rental contracts are usually bound to strict, fixed terms (e.g., full semesters). For tax and legal reasons, and to maintain a stable community, we require a minimum rental period of 6 months.
If we offer flexible, shorter periods, we legally cross the line into commercial hosting. Therefore, accommodating exact individual travel dates is legally impossible for us.
It is completely normal in Germany for tenants to pay for extra months of rent to secure a room. Even my own family members have had to pay for extra months of rent when moving, simply because moving dates almost never align perfectly.
THE "ZWISCHENMIETE" ILLUSION & OUR HIGH STANDARD:
There is one exception to the strict market rules: "Zwischenmiete" (subletting). However, the competition for these cheap offers is incredibly high, and WGs mostly select fluent German speakers.
Our prices cannot be compared to these cheap sublets or basic student dorms. We offer a fair price for a high-quality, barrier-free living experience. If you are simply looking for the cheapest room available, please do NOT apply.
🃏 THE "FAMILY & FRIENDS JOKER":
If you already have a safe place to stay in or around Münster with parents or friends where you can officially get your City Registration (Anmeldung), please draw this joker. Save yourself the stress, move in with them first, and look for your long-term room locally. Please keep in mind that this only works if they own the property, as standard renters usually cannot legally provide you with an Anmeldung.
INTERESTED? HOW TO APPLY:
Please write an individual message in English. Tell me a bit about yourself (Age, studies/job, hobbies) and mention what you expect from well-organized shared living. I prioritize detailed inquiries – the longer the text, the better.
